When visiting a beach town at the Jersey Shore, you want to know where the best restaurants are and it always helps to know where the locals eat. Sea Isle City has a wonderful array of fine dining and my picks for the best of the best are as follows:

If seafood is your passion, you have come to the right place. With fishing boats leaving daily from the docks near 42nd Street, you can dine on the freshest seafood around. A must eat when visiting Sea Isle is Mikes Seafood. Located at 42nd Streets and the Bay, Mikes offers the freshest cooked seafood around in a wide variety of preparations. Casual dining on the dock keeps the prices down and the BYOB helps even more. Nothing fancy here, but the best food you can imagine. And if you want to prepare your own, check out the Seafood Market that offers the freshest catch of the day.

Still along the lines of Seafood, and within few blocks from Mikes Seafood is Carmen’s and Maries. Both offer casual dining with a great variety of freshly caught seafood daily. Carmen’s is kid friendly and offers a play area for the children while they wait.

At the southern end of town, Busch’s Restaurant is a favorite amongst tourist. On Tuesdays and Sundays a must have is the She Crab Soup. This is the best at the South Jersey Shore.

If you have a mixed party of seafood lovers and American cuisine, two top rated restaurants in the Center of town is O’Donnell’s Pour House and Braca’s Café. O’Donnell’s offers a wide variety of seafood, steaks, and their “Irish Cuisine”. Braca’s Café had seafood, steaks, and Italian cuisine. Much of Braca’s is offered with a fabulous pasta and homemade Italian sauce.

Sea Isle offers many different fabulous cuisines and you will find something for every taste.
