There’s so much to see and do in Point Pleasant Beach, New Jersey, so it’s difficult to pick just a few activities to fill up your week here. You will be overwhelmed with all there is in this quaint Jersey Shore town, but you’re sure to love it!

The beach is obviously the hotspot here, and there’s plenty of beach to go around. Whether you sunbathe along the boardwalk or choose a less-crowded beach, you’ll enjoy the water here. A beautiful spot to see along the water is certainly the Manasquan Inlet. Park here and watch the boats go out. There are also nearby restaurants and eateries, so it’s the perfect place to enjoy the scenes and tastes of Point Pleasant.

The aquarium makes a great day trip. Jenkinson’s Aquarium, also located on the boardwalk, is open year-round. There are scheduled feeding times throughout the week so you can plan your viewing of choice. Come see the American alligators, African black-footed penguins, Atlantic and Pacific sharks, harbor seals and tropical birds. They also have a coral exhibit, as well as a reproduction of the famous H.M.S. Bounty.

Speaking of fish, there’s plenty of fishing options, and taking a boat out makes for a fun day excursion. If you’d rather catch fish than look at them, Point Pleasant Beach is the place to be. Experienced fisherman can head straight to the Manasquan Inlet, at the tip of town where the Atlantic and Manasquan meet. It’s the most popular fishing area in the region. Pick up supplies at Alex’s Bait and Tackle on Inlet Drive. But if you’d like a little help in your quest for sea bounty, take a trip on the Norma K III. The fishing excursions run all year-round, and launch from the Inlet. Or contact Windward Charters for a unique spa-and-sail package!

Point Pleasant Beach is home to many spas, so plan to spend at least a day on one of them. The Sea Spa & Salon is located at The White Sands Oceanfront Resort & Spa and offers plenty of pampering services. From massages to facials, you’ll enjoy the sea-inspired treatments and relaxing environment. Get a bite to eat during the day to make it complete. You can also visit the fitness center and tone up while you’re here.

Shopping in Point Pleasant Beach is a day trip in its own. There are plenty of shops and a large antique district here. So you’ll want to set off along Arnold and Bay avenues to explore all the hotspots. A tasty place to stop for a bite is The Beanery or the Green Planet Coffee Co. Head down Route 35 heading south and you’ll find the surf-inspired shop, Brave New World, and a similar vibe at Surf Taco, which serves up fresh Mexican meals.

The best thing to do in this charming municipality is relax. So take in the sights and sounds and enjoy your time here.
