Although we are in our last full week of summer before Labor Day at the Jersey shore, September can be the best month for residents and tourist alike. Once the summer sizzle has calmed down, many enjoy the fun and sun at the Jersey shore without the crowds. September weather is still very warm and the water temperature stays comfortable almost to mid October. So come to the Jersey Shore for a September you will remember forever.

City council has recently approved an Octoberfest and a wine tasting weekend in Sea Isle City to help boost off season tourism. The Octoberfest will be family orienated and offered a weekend in October, (to be announced). The wine tasting weekend will be offered in the spring. Good going to the new Sea Isle City council and the realization that the town needs to offer more to keep tourist coming back in the fall and spring.

This annual event, which raises money for the Cape Regional Medical Center, offers a tour of the most prestigious homes on the seven mile Island. Any one who has visited Ocean City is well aware of the boardwalk that seems to go on forever. But for those who are fit and want a healthy walk while looking at the scenic ocean views can take a fast paced, or peaceful stroll along the Ocean City Boardwalk. Walking in both directions from one end to the other, you will cover five miles while experiencing views from the boardwalk, ocean, and the multi-million dollar homes along the “Gold Coast”. So get up, get out and experience the five mile walk at the Ocean City Boardwalk.

For those who want to come to Sea Isle City, but can’t afford to take off a whole week, the Colonnade Inn is a great way to get a short vacation in. Located at 4600 Landis Ave., The Colonnade Inn, which use to be a B&B offers accomodations from studio’s that have jacuzzi tubs and fireplaces, to three bedroom condo’s. Each of the nineteen units are beautifully decorated and offer free beach tags, continental breakfast, and a wrap around porch with ocean views. For those of you who love Mikes Seafood, you have a new establishment to venture to. Behind Mikes on the water is the new Mike’s Crab Shack. Here you can get about 60% of the traditional Mike’s items along with a new variety of sandwiches and entrees. Eating is along the outside of the deck and the same as Mike’s, you can BYOB. Try one of the new wraps or the Black Angus Burgers with crab meat on top.
Mike’s Crab Shack is open daily.

For those of you who enjoy a great rock n roll band at the Jersey Shore, you most likely have experienced the music and energy of “Drop Dead Sexy”. This Philadelphia based band that plays up and down the Jersey shore in the summer will be appearing at the Trump Marina “Deck” on Saturday August 4th from 2:30 PM till 6:00 PM. The “Deck”, which is outdoors and on the Marina offers a relaxed laid back feeling of a friendly bar on the water.
Drop Dead Sexy has the reputation of not only singing, but performing with many props and clothing changes. If you havn’t experienced this energetic band, you want to head to the Trump Marina on August 4th.

Stone Harbor NJ. For the best of the best in craft shows and art sale, everyone should visit Stone Harbor on the first week in August for the annual Arts and Craft show located at the 80th Street recreation center. This two day event, which is normally held on the first Saturday and Sunday in August gives you the best of the best when it comes to Arts and Crafts. Vendors must submit pictures and a committee chooses only those who qualify as unique.
For those who like shows like this, you can not miss the opportunity to see the best at the shore with the Stone Harbor Art and Crafts show.

Many weekly home rentals are discounted up to 75%, while restaurants offer 25% to 50% off entrees, or free appetizers and desserts with your meals. So if you have the opportunity to visit the Jersey Shore in the fall, do so. You will still have the fun in the sun, but with savings that will allow another visit in the spring.

In this quaint, affluent shore resort town, you will find about a four block square of unique shopping with boutiques, jewelry stores, and specialty shops that will have that hard to find gift.
